Meet Ronda

SOMETIMES, WE’RE GUILTY OF ASSUMING TOO MUCH, RIGHT? We recently realized that we’ve probably wrongly assumed that ALL of you—our valued patients—know Ronda as well as we do! That’s probably not the case.

So, We Asked Ronda A Few Questions

We asked Ronda a few questions to help you get to know her a little better. Those questions are found below—along with her candid answers! Enjoy!

Where are you originally from?

Chesterfield, Virginia

What made you decide that you wanted to become a dental assistant?

I spent a lot of time in the dental chair as a child either having fillings placed or getting my braces adjusted. My teeth were extremely crooked and kids used to call me “Bucky Beaver”. I did not like my teeth so going to the Dentist was my ray of hope. My childhood Dentist office was always filled with laughter and smiles. The staff always told me to hang in there, they were going to make my smile beautiful and that it just takes patience. Once my teeth were put in the right spot it changed my world. I wanted to be that ray of hope for someone else.

When you started as a dental assistant was there something funny that happened? Do you dare tell us that story?

So I started my dental career via the Untited States Air Force which is a whole different ball game let me tell you. At my first assignment one of the Dentist told me to go and get the amalgam “aka silver filling” shade guide. I wanted to look like I already knew it all. I searched for 30 minutes before I realized it didn’t exist (you know since they are only silver). Funny Dentist!

What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not at work?

Crafting stuff. I love to design and make things.

What do you enjoy most about being a dental assistant?

I love helping people. The people I have gotten to meet over the last 18 years and help change their smiles has been a blessing. Not one day goes by that I don’t make a new friend or change someone’s mind about how they see their teeth. Oh and I love making dentures, and I love crowns, … this could go on for a while. I truly love everything about my job.
